Order the Coconut Waffle (Green Vietnamese coconut waffle) YUM!

Petite one-man show at this walk-up shop.

It seems only one man is operating this small restaurant. The price is super cheap, but the quality is really good.

Little spot and one man operation on Steuart street right off the Embarcadero and fairly close to the ferry building.

Got a pork banh mi and it was standard fare. When I walked in there was no one in the facility although the store was unlocked. Turns out the guy was grabbing something from the back.

No place to eat but a solid option for a quick grab n go solution if you're craving a banh mi and don't want to go deeper into SF.

If you like my reviews, consider "following" my profile for reviews all across the SF Bay Area . Why "follow" someone?  It causes the person you follow's reviews to tier to top when you pull up a business. I find this very handy when researching venues.

Rod's Review grading scale explained. Essentially I personally base it on the likelihood of a return visit and I try to be stingy with 5 star reviews since they should be "special" in my eyes. Price/Value also play a role obviously but there are $ and $$$$ littered across my grading scale.

5 stars - "I'll go out of my way" (approx 6 % of my reviews)  4 stars- "If I was in the area I'd go here and would recommend", (approx 38% of my reviews)  3 stars "Maybe if was nearby", (approx 37% of my reviews) 2 stars -"Would likely not return, Only if you want to go", (approx 16% of my reviews)  1 star -"No thanks, even if I was hungry", (approx. 3 % of my reviews)

If you are a fixed budget student like me, you'll appreciate this hole in the wall spot. This place is tucked away but with rent prices the way they are in the city, it makes sense. Don't over look this spot however for that reason. They serve up delicious Vietnamese sandwiches made to order at a reasonable price. You may not have seating to eat it but you can grab a few and enjoy them at the Embarcadero just around the corner. Not really looking forward to going back to school yet, but I know I'll be hitting this place up when I do.

super nice guy literally doing everything on his own! i got the coconut waffle and the regular pork sandwich and it was all under $10! my sandwich was packed tight with pickled veggies and meat in the MOST perfect baguette and tho the meat wasn't grilled like how i usually expect in a banh mi i truly still enjoyed every bite. he was also super considerate of the spice level and asked me if i wanted the jalapeno sparingly which i thought was a really nice thing to ask. the waffle was also really yummy - it was crispy on the edges and soft and almost even chewy in the center. i dinged a star off tho b/c tho it's called a coconut waffle i didn't get much coconut flavor at all and there weren't any coconut pieces in it - should change the name :P  i'll def come back for more of it tho b/c it reminds me of a korean carp bread!
